“I’m a student, do you offer any discounts or special prices for students?”
1. Is there any official scholarship program?
At the moment:
- We do not have a public / official scholarship or bursary program.
- There is no standard application form for scholarships yet.
- There are no guaranteed discounts based on country, income level, or student status.
We also know that preparing for IELTS can be expensive, and that not everyone has the same financial situation. In fact, Cathoven was created exactly because traditional preparation options (courses, private tutors, offline materials) can be very expensive, and we wanted to offer a more affordable, flexible way to prepare.
At the same time, we are still a young startup. To be able to keep the product running, improve it, and continue serving you, we do have ongoing costs and cannot give free access to everyone. For that reason, we currently handle special cases one by one, rather than with a fixed scholarship scheme.
2. I can’t afford Premium – what can I do?
If paying for the standard plans is difficult for you right now:
- Our pay-per-day option is the lowest-cost way to try Cathoven — $3.00/day, 3-day minimum, no auto-renewal, so you only pay for the days you need close to your exam.
- You can also write to us about your specific situation — see section 3 below for case-by-case review.
3. Case-by-case support (how we handle special situations)
In some situations, we may be able to review your case individually.
Examples of what you can write to us about:
- Serious financial difficulty (for example, you cannot afford the full price at all),
- Special circumstances (for example, a sudden change in your situation shortly before your exam date),
- Other reasons why paying the normal price is not realistic for you right now.
Important:
- We review these requests case by case.
- We cannot promise a scholarship, discount, or free Premium in advance.
- Any support we offer (for example, a temporary solution or a one-time exception) depends on our current capacity and internal policy at that time.
4. How to contact us about financial difficulty
If you would like us to review your situation, please contact us and include:
- The email address of your Cathoven account
- Your IELTS exam date (if you already booked it)
- Your country / city
- A short explanation of your situation and why it is hard to pay for Premium right now
You do not need to share very private or sensitive details; just enough to help us understand your situation.
We will:
- Read your message,
- Check what is possible on our side at that moment,
- And reply with either:
- an offer (if we can help in some way), or
- a clear explanation if we unfortunately cannot.
